Hunterdon's Mountain Municipality
Lebanon Township is located in the northern part of Hunterdon County,
New Jersey. Historically an agricultural community, the township has grown
in recent years while still maintaining its rural character and charm.
Its landscape is rich with mountains, farmlands, forests, streams and rivers.
"I soon learned that the Township was made up of small hamlets. Most of these had its'
own school, church and post office. Bunnvale was named for a Mr. Bunn who owned much
of the land in the area. Mr. Hoffman ran a basket factory where the road goes over the
South Raritan River, so that is Hoffman's Crossing. Buffalo Hollow was another. Do you
think there might have been buffalo?" ~ Mrs. Catherine Getz
